Heard, for solo piano

Heard, for solo piano is a reaction against the rigid structure and constant juxtapositions of Pivot.
Composing it was a challenge to myself to create something fluid, contemplative, and engaging.

The piano composition is one of a series of alternate re-imaginings of the same material
including an extended sound installation and a deeply saturated orchestration for large wind ensemble.
Each version engages with a perspective on listening and transcription, both by people and computers.
